Dashain

Dashain is one of the longest and most auspicious festivals marked in Nepalese calendar, celebrated by all caste and creed throughout the country. It is celebrated in the month of Aswin which lies between September to October. It marks the victory of goddess Durga over the demon Mahisasur. It signifies the victory of god over evil.

This festival is in fact the ceremony of reunion and joy. People gather together forgetting all pains and sorrows of life with happiness in this festival. The tenth day of the festival is the most important day as young members of the family receive Tika, Jamara and blessing from their elder as well as respected ones.

Dashain is the festival which marks no boundaries between any castes, culture or race which spreads the message of universal brotherhood.
